Syracuse, New York — February 27, 2018 — WorldStrides Excel, the nation’s largest and most trusted sports travel provider is pleased to announce it is partnering with Syracuse University Men’s Soccer to deliver an international soccer tour to Spain.
As one of the most recognizable and noteworthy NCAA Division I athletic programs, Syracuse University Men’s Soccer will immerse itself in one of the world’s most recognizable soccer cultures. During its tour of Spain, Syracuse will travel to Barcelona and Madrid to tour each city and train at some of the best facilities in the country. Syracuse will tour the homes of two of the most elite clubs in not only Spain but the entire world. The team will also compete against Spanish club teams and attend two professional matches including the La Liga match of Espanyol v. Real Sociedad.
During its Spain Soccer Tour, Syracuse will test its merit against three La Liga teams including Nastic Tarragona, Girona FC, and Getafe FC. The tour will also feature visits to Camp Nou and Santiago Bernabéu Stadiums to experience what makes FC Barcelona and Real Madrid two of the best clubs in Europe. This experience is sure to develop each player’s skills and build a long-standing team bond that will exponentially grow team chemistry. The success of this tour will be reflected in Syracuse’s program for many seasons and will provide a natural advantage for the team against competition that chooses to remain within US borders.
“We are thrilled to have the chance to take our young team to Spain. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our student-athletes both on and off the soccer pitch. We look forward to immersing ourselves in the Spanish culture and being exposed to the country’s soccer rich traditions. We are extremely thankful for the tremendous generosity of our SU alumni, our extended soccer family, and our special Syracuse community who have assisted with our fundraising efforts,” said Ian McIntyre, Head Coach, Syracuse University Men’s Soccer.
“WorldStrides Excel is excited to take the Syracuse University Men’s Soccer team to Spain to experience a heightened level of soccer through friendly matches, stadium tours, professional games and sightseeing excursions.
